Hold Firm Your Faith; Bishop Mathew Urges Youth.

The Catholic Bishop of Sunyani, Most Rev. Matthew Kwasi   Gyamfi joined some section of the catholic Youth this week at Kwasibuokrom in the Jaman South Municipality to celebrate Diocesan version of the World Youth day. The event lasted for three days and was attended by representatives of the Youth from the seven deaneries within the Catholic Diocese of Sunyani-Ghana.

On the Catholic Faith.

The Bishop speaking at the Closing Mass asked the Youth not to allow themselves to be deceived by false Prophets. He added that the Catholic Church has the richest teachings to guide Her members to the Kingdom of Heaven, so the youth must take advantage of that.

He also urged the youth to participate in the missionary work of the Church by spreading the Catholic Faith to places where there is none. This they can also do by establishing outstation Churches so that the Church would be closer to the people.

Speaking on theme of the celebration, the Bishop asked the youth to stand up and be witnesses of the gospel like St. Paul did.

New Youth Age Policy

The Bishop asked the youth to respect and accept the decision the Church has taken on the Youth age Policy. He said the Church has brought this Policy not to bring unhealthy division or competition among the Youth but to streamline and address the faith needs of the Youth according to their respective generational age group. The Policy would augment proper youth evangelization in the Church; the youth through this policy would understand properly and assimilate the Faith according to their respective age groups.

The ceremony was climaxed with a fund raising activity to get financial support for the youth. It was announced that the next celebration of the Diocesan World Youth day shall take place at Sampa Deanery.
