Rain Storm Claims 3 Lives; several others hospitalized.

A heavy rain storm has perished the lives of three youngsters in their twenties. This occurred after an old school building roof fell on multiple spectators who were watching football match at Badu in the Bono Region of Ghana.The Assemblyman for Lawaage Electoral area and Secretary for Badu town Council spoke to our correspondent;Initially, we thought of nineteen affected victims, but as I’m speaking now they are up to twenty-eight in number. The 3 who have died have been identified and reported to their families. Let me clear the air, some are saying the deceased number is more than 3; which is not true beacause the doctors have only confirm 3 dead’, Hon. SheehuDuada said. 
Fodjour Festival is organized annually by the Badu Traditional Council. During the celebration, football gala is one among many activities which attracts a lot of spectators.

The sad incident occurred during the football gala organized to entertain the indigenes and visitors.

An eye witness and victim narrates how the incident occurred to our correspondent; ‘it started around 4pm; we were playing football match when it began to rain. When the storm got scary, we all run to take shelter under the old R/C JHS abandoned classroom. All of a sudden the storm removed the roofing and the entire building collapsed on those running towards the direction of the wind, Samuel Osie Labister told.                                    Hon. The traditional council haunts all activities related to the festival, to mourn and console with the victims’ families; and has gone a step further to take the cost involved.‘’The Paramount Chief of Badu Nana BoakyiYiadom II and his elders at the Traditional Council have agreed to take all the  cost related to the dead, and give them a befitting  burial and also take care of the bills of   those hospitalized’’; Nana Ansu Gyabour Maxwell the Lindquist for the chief said to the media.The 3 deceased persons are currently kept at Nsawkaw Government Hospital mortuary.
