MAHAMA SEEKS BLESSINGS IN SUNYANI AS 'BUILDING GHANA TOUR' KICKS OFF

In a poignant visit to the Sunyani Traditional Council on November 18, 2023, former President John Dramani Mahama, flanked by key figures of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), sought the blessings of Queen Mother Nana Akosua AsorDuaa Sika Brayie II and the Acting President, also Akwamuhene of the Sunyani Traditional council Nana Kwaku Sarbeng.

Expressing heartfelt condolences for the loss of Paramount Chief Nana Bosoma Asor Nkrawiri II, whom he regarded as a father figure, Mahama humbly requested permission to launch his ambitious "Building Ghana Tour" from Sunyani. The tour aims to gather insights from stakeholders, organizations, academics, and individuals to shape the NDC's manifesto for the upcoming 2024 elections.

In a gracious response, Queen Mother Nana AsorDuaa Sika Brayie blessed Mahama, commending his humility. She urged him to conduct a campaign devoid of insults, emphasizing the importance of engaging the people and effectively conveying his message. Advising supporters to exhibit loyalty over noise, she appealed for consideration in selecting a running mate from the Bono region.

Acting President Nana Kwaku Sarbeng, echoing the sentiments of support, praised Mahama for his unwavering respect and love for the traditional council. Brushing off political labels, Sarbeng acknowledged the former president's positive relationship with the region and encouraged a calm demeanor during the campaign.

In a symbolic gesture, both leaders bestowed their blessings, with Nana Sarbeng giving the green light for the launch of the "Building Ghana Tour." As the tour embarks on its mission to shape the nation's future, the Bono region stands as a pivotal starting point, setting the tone for a campaign centered on respect, engagement, and unity.
