UNVEILING DUMASUA'S JOURNEY: A TAPESTRY OF PROGRESS AND INNOVATION

Greetings, dear readers! Today, let's embark on a captivating journey to Dumasua, a community nestled in the heart of the Bono Region, where waves of positive change are reshaping the landscape. The unveiling of a 7-year development plan and the birth of the Dumasua Nkosour Fun Club have become beacons of hope and inspiration, ushering in an era of holistic community development.



Under the visionary leadership of Nana Ayebiafo Jnana, the Dumasua Traditional Council's initiatives are nothing short of commendable. The essence of DUMASUA - Discipline, Unity, Motivation, Ability, Support, Upgrade, and Action - embodies a strategic roadmap, emphasizing cleanliness, greenery, and an upliftment of living standards. This lean house model promises to guide the community towards achieving ambitious goals.

 

Distinguished personalities, including the esteemed Bono Regional Minister, Honourable Justina Owusu Banahene, and representatives from the municipal police and fire command, graced the occasion. Their presence underscores the broad national support for Dumasua's endeavors.

 

A particularly heartening aspect is the active participation of the youth, with 250 members proudly holding ID cards. This reflects the community's commitment to instill responsibility and engagement in the younger generation.

 

Nana Ayebiafo Jnana, the newly appointed Nkosour-hene, shared insights into ongoing projects, highlighting their positive impact on local employment. Plans for a purified water factory on recently acquired land and ventures into snail rearing, mushroom cultivation, and catfish farming signal strategic moves towards enhancing the standard of living in Dumasua.


In a gesture of support, Honourable Ignatius Baffour Awuah, the Sunyani West Member of Parliament and Minister of Employment and Labour Relations, generously donated one hundred thousand Ghana cedis. This significant contribution underscores crucial governmental backing for grassroots initiatives, a promising sign for the success of Dumasua's development projects.


Chaired by Nana Kwame Amponsah II, the Dumasua chief, the occasion emerged as a successful and impactful event, bringing together diverse stakeholders for the collective betterment of Dumasua.   The Catholic University of Ghana (CUG), Fiapre, has welcomed a new era in its academic leadership with the appointment of Professor Matthew Glover Addo , a distinguished microbiologist and molecular biologist, as the new Vice-Chancellor. Professor Addo will officially take over office on Monday, September 1, 2025 , at a brief handing-over ceremony following a welcoming meeting with the University community. Later in the day, he will pay a courtesy call on the Bishop of Sunyani, who also serves as the Episcopal Moderator of the University.
