A Call to Action: Fulfilling Our Civic Duty as Seventh-day Adventists
As the general election approaches, is I am compelled to urge my fellow Seventh-day Adventists to exercise their civic duty and vote.
I my opinion, this is not only a matter of civic responsibility but also a matter of salvation. As citizens of this great nation, we have a duty to participate in the democratic process and shape the future of our country.
Our Constitution clearly outlines the duties of a good citizen in Article 41 of the 1992 Constitution, whilst Article 42 of chapter seven specified our voting obligations.
I believe it is our responsibility to fulfill these duties. As a citizen of Christianity background, I know that service to mankind is service to God. Which my brothers and sisters of the Seventh Day Adventist fully aware. We have been called to be salt and light in the world, and this includes being responsible citizens.
I have seen firsthand the impact we can have when we come together to achieve a common goal. As an infant I was privileged to be a member of the Church from childhood until I was 30.
During that time, I learned the importance of obedience and fulfilling civic duties. I remember the discipline and dedication that characterized our camp meetings and crusades. We would gather from all over, eager to worship, learn, and fellowship. If we could apply the same level of commitment to the upcoming election, I believe it would be a significant moment for our nation.
Some of you may be thinking, "But I have church on Saturday, and I don't want to miss it." I understand that our spiritual commitments are important, but I also, believe we can find a way to balance our civic duty with our spiritual obligations.
In fact, I believe exercising our civic duty is an act of worship. We are showing that we care about our fellow citizens and are committed to creating a better society for all.
So, I urge my brothers and sisters to make a plan to vote on Saturday, December 7. Get to the polling station early, cast your ballot, and then head to church. I believe the citizens will comply and give us space to vote quickly and go to church. Let us show the world that we are responsible citizens who care about our country.
Let us apply the same discipline and dedication that we show in our spiritual lives to our civic responsibilities. Together, we can make a difference and achieve victory for our nation. We owe it to ourselves, our children, and future generations to participate in this democratic process.
By voting, we are not only exercising our right but also honoring God and our country. Let us take this opportunity seriously and make our voices heard. Let us be the change we want to see in our nation.
In conclusion, I urge all Seventh-day Adventists to fulfill their civic duty and vote in the upcoming election.
