ECONOMIST ADVOCATES NATIONAL ARTISAN AUTHORITY TO BROADEN GHANA’S TAX NET

  Renowned economist, Mr. Enoch Okona, has proposed the establishment of a National Artisan Authority as a pragmatic measure to expand Ghana’s tax net while fostering sustainable development. Speaking on The Sunrise Morning Show on Monday, December 16, 2024, aired on Wisdom 101.1 FM, the campus radio station of the Catholic University of Ghana, Mr. Okona highlighted the need for innovative strategies to improve domestic revenue mobilization. According to Mr. Okona, the government’s recent decision to scrap some taxes is commendable, but it underscores the urgency of finding alternative ways to enhance revenue generation. He emphasized that establishing a National Artisan Authority could serve as a transformative step. This body would be tasked with issuing annual licenses to artisans across the country. WISDOM 101.1 FM OFFICIALLY INAUGURATED AT CATHOLIC UNIVERSITY OF GHANA

  The Catholic University of Ghana (CUG) witnessed a historic moment on October 25, 2024, with the inauguration of its campus radio station, Wisdom 101.1 FM. The colorful ceremony was graced by dignitaries, staff, and students, marking a significant milestone in the university's journey toward advancing communication and education. The Vice-Chancellor of CUG, Professor Daniels Kwabena Obeng Ofori, led the list of esteemed guests, including the Pro-Vice-Chancellor, Rev. Father Peter Nkrumah Amponsah; Registrar, Mr. Emmanuel Kwadwo Kaba; and Dean of the Faculty of Journalism and Communication Studies, Rev. Father Owoahene Acheampong.
